[FUGSPBR] Instalando um Display LCD 16x2 no Free

Ola pessoal,

alguem ja conseguiu fazer o FreeBSD detectar um display de cristal liquido de 16x2?

consegui fazer funcionar no linux.
carregando o modulo lcd: insmod lcd, detecta o display que esta na porta paralela.

no free, instalei o pacote do ports: lcdproc, mas nao consigo fazer o display detectar.
no dmesg nao aparece nada.

tive dando uma olhada no LINT e nao vi nenhuma opcao p/ recompilar o kernel com suporte a display.

no arquivo, LCDd.conf, acho que o drive mais proximo é o :

Driver=CFontz da Crystal fontz

Deixei a seguinte configuracao: 
[CFontz]
# CrystalFontz driver
# Select the output device to use [/dev/lcd]
Device=/dev/lpt0
# Select the LCD type (size) [20x4]
Size=16x2
# Set the initial contrast [140]
Contrast=140

mas esta dando erro e o server nao inicializa:

o display é um GDM1602B da Xiamen Ocular e o free é 4.6

se alguem tiver uma dica, agradeco
