[FUGSPBR] ethernet bridging

Boa tarde,

Configurei um FreeBSD 5.2-RELEASE como bridge/ipfw. O problema é o seguinte:
tem 2 placas: xl0 e xl1.

xl0: flags=8943<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,PROMISC,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
        options=8<VLAN_MTU>
        inet 10.0.0.1 netmask 0xfffffff0 broadcast 10.0.0.255
        ether 00:10:4a:2b:21:27
        media: Ethernet autoselect (10baseT/UTP)
        status: active
xl1: flags=8943<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,PROMISC,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500
        options=8<VLAN_MTU>
        ether 00:60:04:12:49:f3
        media: Ethernet autoselect (100baseTX <full-duplex>)
        status: active
lo0: flags=8049<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 16384
        inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000

rede 1 --------[ xl0  xl1]--------- rede2 ------------- internet

consigo pingar qualquer host na rede 1. mas nao consigo pingar na rede2, pq
xl1 nao tem um ip. Teria como colocar o mesmo ip nas duas, ou outro ip na
mesma classe?
e quando um cliente ssh loga nessa bridge, demora entrar o campo de senha,
talvez seja resolucao de nome, pelo motivo de nao conseguir chegar no dns.

Alguem tem alguma sugestao, no que tem q mudar??
