Só para acrescentar: uma coisa que eu tive que fazer no meu foi
compilar o o ROOTDEVNAME no kernel, pois nem que a vaca tussa esse
treco queria funcionar apenas através de scripts. Capaz de vc ter que
fazer a mesma coisa, colocando como ROOTDEVNAME o /dev/da0. Sei lá...
